Therapy for Graduate Students and Professionals

With high achievement comes stress.

The people who seek this work are often high achievers who have done everything “right” but feel like their nervous system never gets a break.

They lie awake at night replaying study plans, deadlines, and worst-case scenarios. Even when they’re productive, it rarely feels like enough. Rest brings guilt instead of relief.

Their highest values are responsibility, competence, and follow-through. They want to finish what they started and move into the next phase of their career with confidence – not resentment or burnout.

If one wish could come true, they wouldn’t erase the challenge. However, they would erase the constant mental noise, emotional reactivity, and fear of falling behind that’s draining their energy and enjoyment of life.

Those experiencing extended pressure benefit.

My approach is designed specifically for people under long-term pressure, not short-term stress.

Rather than open-ended conversation or surface-level reassurance, the work is structured and practical. We focus on how pressure impacts thinking patterns, emotional responses, and behavior – and how those patterns can be adjusted in real time.

Using a cognitive-behavioral coaching framework, sessions help clients slow things down, make sense of what’s happening mentally and emotionally, and build strategies that support focus, steadiness, and follow-through.

The emphasis is on clarity and application, so progress continues outside of sessions and directly supports exam preparation and professional demands.

Here’s an outline of my approach.

The primary goal initially is to stabilize your system. We will focus on understanding how sustained pressure is affecting your thinking, emotions, and daily functioning. Early work emphasizes reducing mental overload and creating immediate steadiness.

Then, we will start reworking pressure patterns. This phase targets the patterns that keep anxiety, overthinking, and burnout in place. We build practical strategies to improve focus, emotional regulation, and performance under stress.

The final phase focuses on sustaining momentum by helping you maintain gains, handle future stressors more effectively, and move forward without reverting to exhaustion-driven habits.

Ease stress and reach your goals.

On the other side of this work, clients often feel calmer under pressure, more focused in their preparation, and more confident in how they handle setbacks.

Studying becomes more efficient. Decisions feel clearer. Progress feels intentional rather than driven by anxiety or self-criticism.
